The Russian Ministry of Education and Science has announced the second round of the Leading Scientists open grant competition. In 2010 the Russian government started the Leading Scientist grant programme. The competition has been set up to intensify international co-operation in science and education. Grants are awarded to internationally-renowned scientists to stimulate top research at Russian universities. The grants are allocated on a competition basis once every three years for a period of three years, with a possible extension of two years.
